Charles Oluf Olsen was born in Denmark in 1872 and came to the United States at the age of 16. He worked as a cook, blacksmith, salesman, and lumberjack before writing for newspapers and magazines. This collection includes nonfiction articles, including some published in the Oregonian and the Oregon Journal; fiction; and poetry written by Charles Oluf Olsen. Also included are family correspondence (1918-1959), biographical materials of Charles and Bessie Olsen, and three photographs (possibly one of Charles and possibly two of Bessie Olsen).
